Introduced into New Zealand from Europe in the late 1800’s, the New Zealand Red Stag is one of the most sought after game animals of the world. Four Seasons offer thousands of acres of both free-range and fair chase hunting on there very own private exclusive game estate. Hunting Red Stag is available when in hard antler from February to August each year. 

The Red Stag rut is a very popular time to experience the very loud and impressive vocal rut call, known as the “Roar” because of it’s resemblance of a lions roar. This rut period books out early with hunters wishing to pursue the giant antlered stags from March through April each season.

With numerous stags available each year, choosing your dream Stag, typical or non–typical, may well be your hardest decision while on the hunt, which can make for an adventurous hunt all the way through into August.
