Fallow
Palmation in antlers similar to Moose
Fallow bucks are very aggressive towards other bucks during their rut which runs from April to May over the protection of the does. Fallow are also a very vocal deer, producing a croaking, grunting sound during their rut. This is a challenge call to other bucks and quite the show to watch.
They come in three color phases, chocolate, spotted menil (red-grey skin with white spots) and pure white. Bucks can be hunted from late Feb – Sept and are regarded as one of the most beautiful deer species, with palmated antlers similar to moose paddles.
